Responsible for all sales, education and customer support activity for assigned module of accounts in the State & Local government and support Non Profits as needed. The principal functions include the protection and growth of the account revenue stream; increasing penetration in the vertical; execution of strategic sales and marketing plans, and ensuring all customer satisfaction requirements are met. As the subject matter expert, this person will partner with both the regional account owners and the other lines of business on the design, development and implementation of advanced wireless voice, data and converged solutions within assigned vertical. Responsible for sales presentations, demonstrations, training, customer support and problem-solving.
• Sales Results: Manages and leads all efforts necessary to identify, acquire and further penetrate assigned industry vertical. Partners with regional account owner on solution-based selling through customer sales presentations. Establishes strategic relationships with potential and existing customers promoting Verizon Wireless as the market leader in the wireless industry.  Oversees contract negotiations with customers and closing renewal opportunities. Works with other lines of business to identify and position us with C level executives in order to identify new opportunities and more effectively penetrate existing accounts.
• Account Management and Planning: Work in partnership with the regions to fulfill contracts internally by working with key functional groups including Enterprise Data, Network, IT, E-Commerce, Data, Finance, Legal and Customer Service teams as well as third party vendors for services.
• Knowledge Sharing/Customer Events/reporting:  As Subject Matter Expert, this person will coordinate area strategy, share regional best practices and ensure the team is up to date on all wireless products, services, industry trends and the competitive dynamics of the identified vertical. This person will hold customer symposiums and other events, attend sales meetings and funnel calls, and represent the company at trade association meetings as appropriate. Fully utilize all sales force automation, funnel management and prospecting tools. Manage area sales funnel for the vertical, generate reporting on sales activities and forecasting.

Qualifications

           

3-5 years selling in the government vertical

prefer college degree, or equivalent work experience
