The Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut has embarked on a business diversification strategy and one such area they are focusing on is the development of food and beverage restaurant franchises. They have entered into a multi-unit development agreement with AROOGAS , a rapidly growing and award winning Grille House & Sports Bar, to open 16 AROOGAS franchises in various counties in CT, MA, and all of RI. This agreement offers significant career growth potential for dedicated and motivated employees who want to be part of the Mohegan AROOGAS restaurant team. The position below represents a position in the first Mohegan owned AROOGAS franchise which is planned to open in UNCASVILLE, CT in February.



Essential Duties:

  1. Takes drink orders, suggesting specialty drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, etc., and delivers them promptly and accurately to each guest.
  2. Takes ownership of the assigned section, managing and maintaining it by keeping tables, floors, ledges, walls, windows, blinds, TVs, etc. clean and free of clutter and dust.
  3. Explains Arooga’s versus other restaurants when greeting guests by outlining our fresh made menu items, 40+ draft beers, that we are a green restaurant, etc.
  4. Offers guests a Buzztime game tablet, discussing its applications to guests unfamiliar with the game.
  5. Asks the required seven wing questions.
  6. Suggests an appetizer and delivers it promptly. (if ordered)
  7. Takes each guest’s entrée order, suggesting add-on sides and salads.
  8. Knows Arooga’s menu thoroughly and accurately, answers any questions a guest might have about items, and offers preparation options.
  9. Enters tables’ orders into POS according to seat numbers, starting at the first seat on the left and moving clockwise around the table.
  10. Discusses the MVP loyalty program with customer while waiting for the food to arrive and asks them to join.
  11. Delivers entrées, giving each guest their order without “auctioning” the food at the table.
  12. Checks back with guests with two (2) minutes to make sure everything is prepared to their satisfaction.
  13. Without being intrusive, observes when drinks need to be refilled or dishes need to be cleared.
  14. Accurately enters food and drink items at the POS station.
  15. Presents guest with an itemized receipt and picks up the payment in a timely fashion.
  16. Makes correct change and/or completes the proper charge card procedure. Never asks the guest if they would like change.
  17. Pre-buses the table by clearing all food items.
  18. Resolves any guest complaints immediately (unless a Manager is required to assist), exercising judgment in the most appropriate way to satisfy the guest.
  19. Advises the management immediately of any guest complaints so the manager can immediately intercede and resolve the issue.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
