About this job

The overall responsibility of an Assistant Manager is the operation of a Brusters Ice Cream store in the absence of the General Manager. The Assistant Manager is responsible for store operations including front of store customer service, direct staff supervision, paperwork, back of store operations. The position of Assistant Manager requires dependability, honesty, responsibility and the ability to assert authority when necessary with staff. Additionally an Assistant Manager must possess a pleasant, friendly personality to insure exceptional customer service.
Position Requirements:
- Multi-task in a high energy and fast-pace work environment
- Effectively supervise and direct associates.
- Use sound judgment and decision making skills
- Effectively manage stressful situations
- Complete Brusters and SafeServ training
- Candidates must be available to work weekend and evening shifts.
- Candidates must be willing to work the front of the store.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience. Must possess well-developed verbal skills sufficient to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
- Must possess well- developed math skills sufficient to complete paperwork and reports required to operate store effectively.
- Basic to moderate computer knowledge and basic understanding of MS word and Excel.
- Prior food service or management experience is preferred.
- High School Diploma required
- Position requires lifting up to 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
