Requirements


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist in Operating a Blown Film line in the Safest possible manner, ensuring the
safety of not only one's self, but also of other employees.

Running one winder of a Blown Film line to insure all products meet specifications.

Core Tag all products ran off that winder for tracability.

Assist Operator during Screen Change by changing dull blades, running rope, and
lacing the bubble thru the winders.

Set-up of Winder to product specifications including safe disposal of used blades.

Assist surrounding Blown Film lines during separation losses, ribbon vacuum
losses, or other machine failures to avoid accidents and limit scrap production.

Shares responsibility of meeting ASI/AIB Housekeeping standards.

Assists in achieving standard production rates on the Blown Film lines. (14,000 lbs. per day on cling formulation and 15,500 lbs. per day on meat formulation).

Works to achieve scrap rate of 12% or less on Cling and 14% or less on Meat.

Assist Operator in pulling and cleaning Dies, Screws, Elbows, and misc. equipment as required.

Ensures attendance objectives are met.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat (non-weather).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Blown Film Helpers lift mandrels and carry rolls to weight them and place them on skids. Sets of film can come off as quick as every three (3) minutes and produces up to fourteen (14) rolls or sets of film can come as slow as twenty-five (25) minutes for ten (10) rolls. Lifting requirements vary with scheduling of the Blown Film lines.
