Junior Accountant

A Creative Production Agency is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented individual to serve as Junior Accountant. Junior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Controller of the company, and will largely be responsible for providing day-to-day operations and analytics support.

The ideal candidate will be quantitative, resourceful, and inquisitive.

Responsibilities include:

Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.

Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks.

Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

Provides financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts; preparing reports.

Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts payable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.

Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.

Ad hoc projects


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting

1-2 years of prior work experience in related field

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Etc)

Understanding of Debits and Credits

Detail oriented

Ability to work independently

Ability to excel in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to prioritize

Possess a high-level of integrity and sensitivity to confidential information.

Knowledge of EFI Pace is a plus, but not a must
