JOB DESCRIPTION:

UPS Supply Chain Solutions is currently seeking a Healthcare Continuous Improvement Manager to oversee quality assurance and customer product inventory management. He/She directs customer warehouse relocations. This position develops and manages implementation plans for new customer accounts, new products, and most help needed accounts (MHN). He/She manages International Organization of Standardization (ISO) certifications for assigned customers. He/She directs process writing and the creation of operational flows. This position develops, implements, manages, and audits customized quality programs.

Healthcare Continuous Improvement Manager responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Creates ISO contracts with ISO registrar to meet operational needs and to obtain and retain ISO certifications.
  • Manages quality programs and systems (e.g., balanced scorecard, customer concerns, inspections, QDocS, etc.) to ensure operational compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Coordinates ISO contract modifications to secure ISO certification for new business accounts and to meet contractual obligations.
  • Coordinates, plans, and manages ISO and Sarbanes Oxley SAS70 audits to support operational preparation and participation and to facilitate scheduling, resource planning, and execution.
  • Serves as a liaison between Operations and external auditors to address audit issues.
  • Collaborates with management and Operations to remedy audit deficiencies and to improve audit preparedness.
  • Collaborates with customers and Operations regarding physical inventory requests to evaluate feasibility, resource requirements, and prioritization.
  • Guides project planning and management for physical customer product inventory audits to meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Evaluates inventory audit results to identify and reconcile variances.
  • Provides updates to management to communicate progress, address issues, and discuss improvements and best practices for future projects.
  • Collaborates with customers and Operations to obtain functional and business needs for the quality documentation system.
  • Evaluates system accessibility and usability to identify areas of improvements and to promote utilization and effectiveness. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of at least one system tool or utility, as well as working knowledge of several other types of tools or utilities; develops, administers, and/or supports systems with limited assistance; measures the capabilities of individual tools to satisfy development or support needs.
  • Applies knowledge of agency functions and regulation to compliance and enforcement activities; identifies routine situations where the organization may be out of compliance as well as the specific impacts of non-compliance. 

REQUIRED CRITERIA:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Minitab software experience
  • Healthcare Industry background experience

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of at least one system tool or utility and has working knowledge of several others.
  • Ability to identify routine situations where the organization may be out of compliance and explains specific impacts.
  • Recognizes the importance of quality assurance and identifies situations that impede the quality assurance process.
  • Demonstrates a detailed understanding of supply chain concepts and makes recommendations for changes to solve supply chain problems.
  • Drafts specialized or technical documents and tailors communications to fit various audiences.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration
