Position Description:

A IT Quality Analyst is involved in every phase of the software quality product development cycle, defines and implements test plans and strategies.


Positions in this function are involved in developing and implementing efficient and effective test plans for new systems problems and/or enhancements. Includes understanding of QA methodology, processes and associated automated testing tools.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Analyze and dissect system requirements and technical specifications to create and execute test cases for large business initiatives

  • Ability to write test cases and execute testing within a web service environment

  • Product test and driving defect resolution

  • Assist business users in defining User Acceptance Testing, test cases and plans

  • Establish and maintain test cases and test data

  • Actively participate in walk-through, inspection, review and user group meetings for quality assurance

  • Work with business users, system analysts, designers and programmers to create and analyze various required project documents

  • Participate in production implementation verification and being accountable for validating system quality

  • Plan, document, evaluate and track testing results to ensure system applications are free from defects

  • Communicate and interact with appropriate areas on problems, changes and enhancements that may impact data, workflow and /or functionality within Information Technology software

  • Comply with standards of the software development life cycle and follow strategies, plans and procedures within information Technology software

  • Comply with standards and strategies of the software development life cycle

  • Ideal candidate will possess the know how to create governance and process around quality assurance practices.

  • Candidate will be able to communicate the process to both business and IT leadership

  • Ensure testing activities that allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.

  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.

  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.

  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop testing strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.

  • Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed.

  • Contribute to pre-testing phase of project development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations. 

  • Evaluate, plan, design, develop, and deploy testing techniques for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.

  • Create and execute test scripts, cases, and scenarios that will determine optimal system performance according to specifications.

  • Conduct all types of application testing as needed, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.

  • Analyze formal test results in order to discover and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.

  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.

  • Produce reports and documentation for all testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging, and tracking.

  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.

  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-testing best practices.

  • Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.

  • Works with less structured, more complex issues.

  • Serves as a resource to others.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • 5+ years QA experience
  • 3+ years SQL experience 

  • Previous experience with release management/regression testing

  • Previous experience with distributed environments
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Healthcare experience
