PART-TIME POSITION

PURPOSE:
Responsible for implementing HR programs and providing support to a new acquisition site with respect to all people issues in order to support the growth and profitability of the organization.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES / DUTIES:

Human Resource Strategy
Serves as an internal consultant to hiring managers, advising them on compensation and benefit options, legislative changes, current trends in human resources management, etc.
Advise site management in personnel policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions
Establish or recommend changes to polices which affect operations
Participates as an active member on site and corporate projects, teams and process improvement.
Keeps up-to-date on current human resource and labor market trends, new technology programs and applications.
Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

Staffing-Confers with management to identify current and future personnel needs.
Develops recruitment program along with the HR Business Partner for the site.
* Places job advertising in various media. Utilizes online recruiting sources to identify and recruit candidates.
* Reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements, and to provide information about the organization and position.
* Screens and refers candidates for additional interviews with others in organization. Coordinates communications with applicants (e.g. interviews, offer letter, start date).
* Verifies references and background checks on exempt and non-exempt applicants.
* Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates as needed.
* Produces Human Resources related reports as requested by Business Unit Managers.

3. Employee Relations
* Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
* Ensures the consistent treatment of employees and the consistent application of human resources policies and procedures.
* Maintains positive working relationships with employees and managers.
* Counsels management on policy interpretation and legal awareness. Advises and investigates (when applicable) in regard to the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Assists in the administration of the disciplinary procedure.
* Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
* Advise site managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation and benefits. Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
* Maintains up-to-date knowledge in current employment laws and practices.
* Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
* Designs and administers proactive programs, procedures and plans, including the consistent interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures. Crafts programs to improve employee satisfaction and retention of critical skill employees, while minimizing company exposure to liability. Conducts internal employee-related investigations and may respond to EEOC or other third party charges and claims. Recommends actions to management to achieve diversity goals.

4. Compensation
* Administers performance review and salary programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
* Provides guidance to managers on compensation plan design and administration
* Supports career mapping programs.
* Reviews and approves job descriptions identifying job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills as deemed necessary.

5. Benefits
* Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacations, sick leave, leave of absence and employee assistance.

6. Training and Development
* Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety and sexual harassment.
* Trains new managers on employee relations philosophy and human resource practices, programs and policies.
* Coach and mentor first line Managers and Leaders in support of HR policies and procedures
* Assess management capabilities and their leadership development needs

7. Other
* Benchmark and network with other HR and business professionals, Be an employee advocate and addresses workplace concerns and HR related issues
Participate as a key business partner on leadership teams
