Job Description - DOCATIII 309th Electronics Maintenance Group (EMXG)
Title: Electronic Technician III
Work Site: Ogden Air Logistics Complex, Hill Air Force Base, UT
Base Pay: $25.21/hr. per WD 05-2531 OC 23183
Health and Welfare: $4.02/hr. in benefits
Job Description:
- Perform general maintenance, repairs and modifications to aircraft and ground equipment electronics parts and components
- Remove and replace defective electronic parts and assemblies
- Provide technical assistance to Electronics I & II
- Modify electronic devices and equipment
- Repair and replace electronic systems and sub-systems
- Troubleshoot, repair or replace aircraft and ground equipment electronic components
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with engineering drawing, procedures, specifications, standards and maintenance manuals.
- Document work performed in appropriate Air Force systems
Required Experience:
- Must be able to obtain a NACI Favorable
- Must possess a valid Utah driver's license
- +5 years performing aircraft and ground equipment electronic repairs
- 2 or more years of Air Force Depot Level maintenance experience
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles
- Working knowledge of technical publications
- Experience with micro meters, oscilloscopes, and other basic electronic tools
- Experience with computer controlled equipment
- Knowledge of high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers
- Experience with Air Force Technical data, blue prints and standard operating procedures
Required Education:
- High School Diploma
- AA or other relevant trade or military trade school
Workplace Environment:
- All work will be performed in a large Air Force maintenance facility
- May be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty and dirty
- May be required to work in areas with moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold, and wind
- Required to be able to lift (up to 50 pounds) , reach, bend and work in cramped spaces and in awkward positions
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to respirators
- Perform work in confined space areas
Key responsibilities:
- Must be able to use common Electronic tools such as micro meters, oscilloscopes, solder irons, wire cutters
- Perform complex instrument test such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers
- Keep the workplace clean and free of FOD- CLEAN AS YOU GO
- Trouble shoot complex computer controlled equipment and electronic components
- Removal and installation of aircraft and ground equipment electronic components
- Evaluate sub-system functionality
Required Tools and PPE:
- All tools are Government Furnished Property (GFP)
- Steel toe safety shoes must be provided by each employee
- Prescription safety glasses must be provided by the employee
Leave and Holiday:
- Ten federal holidays per the Service Contract Act plus Good Friday
- Vacation/PTO 1 week total
Shifts:
- Employees might be required to work overtime as directed by the customer and as required by the maintenance schedule
- All employees must be willing and able to work all of the shifts listed below;
