Shipping Supervisor

Responsible for all duties involved with shipping and receiving. Participates in maintaining the inventory, including stocking, cycle counting, and general organization. Responsible for maintaining Returned Goods Program. Reports to Production and Warehouse Manager.

Essential Responsibilities: The employee may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.

* Responsible for all aspects of shipping products and receiving inventory using the MRP system. There are over 200 products that can be shipped domestically or internationally. Products include scientific instruments, consumables, and reagents.

* Responsible for the preparation of products to be shipped, including crating and packaging of hazardous materials. Use and maintain all shipping on-line software.

* Record materials shipped and received using the appropriate MRP system. Initiate research regarding inventory discrepancies.

* Help supervise and participate in performing cycle counts and all scheduled physical inventories.

* Manage Returned Goods for restocking and Returned Goods for Servicing.

* Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness. Ensure the warehouse is accessible for manufacturing staff.

Non-Essential Responsibilities: In addition to the essential responsibilities listed above, the employee may be required to perform other non-essential functions. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job related duties requested by their supervisor.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma and 7+ years of related experience. Any advanced education a plus.

* Knowledge of a sophisticated MRP software program required

* General computer experience required, including use of MicroSoft Office software

* Experience with UPS/FEDEX shipping operations essential

* Familiar with warehouse operations that house a large and diverse inventory

* Experience leading others in shipping and warehousing functions

* IATA and DOT training a plus

* Must be able to operate standard warehouse equipment, such as a palette jack, or proven ability to learn



Special Physical Requirements for this position include substantial lifting and moving, may be up to 50 pounds; more with a mechanical lift. Must be able to access stairs to retrieve shipping supplies.
