Nature of Work:
Typically administers a program(s) or a portion of a program(s) within a department. Program(s) typically have a division-wide or Company-wide scope. Work is generally varied and administrative or project oriented.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Answers questions pertaining to the program(s) being administered. Provides standard information regarding the routine details and terms of the program(s), provides guidance regarding the administrative procedures surrounding the program(s) and answers other frequently asked questions. More involved questions regarding the program are referred to the appropriate person.
- Produces and composes routine correspondence or documents pertaining to the program(s) being administered.
- Processes data related to the administration of the program(s) through an automated system following predetermined procedures.
- Researches general questions and problems regarding department policies, procedures, information or services. More involved issues are referred to the appropriate person.
- May maintain a tracking or reporting system utilizing spreadsheet, database or mainframe software.
Typical Knowledge and Experience:
- Position requires a working knowledge of standard administrative processes and the department's policies, procedures, products and services, customers and vendors typically gained through several years of experience.
- Position requires knowledge of basic functions of one or more business software packages, primarily word-processing, spreadsheet or database.
- Position may require general awareness and limited monitoring of certain regulatory requirements as they pertain to the program(s) being administered.
Supervision Received:
- Incumbent receives general supervision. Instructions are received at the beginning of projects and work is generally reviewed at the completion of the assignment. Incumbent has a high level of autonomy when handling daily recurring tasks.
- The incumbent is responsible for setting priorities and establishing procedures for completing their daily, routine responsibilities. The supervisor is typically involved in setting priorities for completing projects or new or unique assignments.
