We are seeking a Bilingual (English and Spanish) Intake Coordinator to join our Atlanta team! The Intake Coordinator is the primary facilitator of the Administrative process for Clinical placement. The Associate will be responsible for initiating and/or facilitating the Authorization process, in accordance with established Health Plan policies and procedures. Additionally, the Associate is tasked with disseminating Clinical information from Providers to the appropriate Nursing staff in a timely fashion to assist with maintaining UM guidelines and timelines.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Enter Authorizations in the UM System in preparation for review by the UM Clinical Nursing staff.
  • Request Clinical information, as directed by UM Clinical Nursing staff.
  • Create and fax Authorization notification to Providers.
  • Verify Admission and Discharge dates.
  • Assist and/or complete Approval/Denial process, as outlined by NCQA/CMS guidelines.
  • Document in software application and charting system according to Health Plan policies, procedures, and NCQA/CMS guidelines.
  • Assist Manager, as requested.
  • Other tasks, as assigned.
  • Strong critical thinking, customer service, problem solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to work shifts of either 10:00 am - 6:30 pm or 10:30 am - 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • 2+ years of Professional experience in an Office setting using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform the job duties.
  • Previous Call Center experience.
  • Bilingual fluency with English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in a Hospital, Physician, and/or Medical Clinical environment.
  • Healthcare or Insurance Benefits experience.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology/Coding (ICD-9 and CPT). 
  • Experience in Utilization Review.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, and long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitor.
  • Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activity.
