This is a part time, 20 hour per week, position. Travel throughout Arizona is required 50% of the time, and the remaining time will be spent telecommuting.



Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manage and perform multiple on-site compliance trust fund account audits of member trust accounts at nursing facilities throughout the state and provide accurate timely reporting to the Director of Operations

  • Determine account accuracy and adequacy of compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and UHC contract

  • Create a strong relationship with providers and maintain detailed documentation and reporting in support of audits

  • Investigate complaints and potential issues of fraud and abuse allegations

  • Establish annual schedule for onsite audits and maintain a calendar

  • Requires written correspondence with the facility identifying records to be reviewed

  • Must be able to review bank account reconciliations, deposit and withdrawal documentation, authorization letters, surety bond, facility policies and procedures to cover resident/member personal accounts, and petty cash withdrawals

  • Use designated trust fund account audit tool to determine the effectiveness of controls over the management of member trust funds in the facility

  • Identify account balances over or close to the financial resource limit that may jeopardize the resident's eligibility

  • Conduct exit interview with the facility on audit findings

  • Provide training and recommendations for improvement when appropriate to facility.  Keep current on state and federal trust regulations and be flexible for business travel to meet the needs of the customer

  • When necessary submit AHCCCS Referral for Preliminary Investigation to the state for pursuit of civil or criminal actions

  • Submit monthly management reports

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • 3 + years of experience working in a health care environment

  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently

  • Strong communication, writing, organization, and people skills

  • Intermediate skills using MS Word and Excel applications

  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time within Arizona (Phoenix Metro, Northern and Southern)

 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Medicaid (ALTCS preferred)

  • Experience working with Nursing Home Providers

  • Audit experience

  • Ability to understand state and federal laws and regulations

  • Understanding of general personal accounting to determine accuracy and compliance

  • Case Management experience
