Facility Maintenance

Performs routine and preventive maintenance on building, grounds, and equipment, including some carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC to provide a safe and fully operational working environment, and also perform housekeeping duties, must be dependable.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Performs basic and semi-skilled assignments in the areas of electrical, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, locksmith, HVAC and landscaping for facility construction, maintenance and repair projects. 2. Operates and maintains hand tools, power tools, equipment, machinery and vehicles. 3. Transports, assembles, repairs and moves office furniture and equipment. 4 Requests, inventories, picks up and delivers equipment and supplies required for project completion, ensuring efficient use of materials, resources and time. 5. Conducts routine and on-demand assessment of assigned maintenance areas, establishing priorities for maintenance tasks and ensuring timely and thorough completion of tasks and projects according to customer needs. 6. Responds to emergency maintenance requests, as assigned. 7. Under supervisor ensures worksites comply with life safety codes, OSHA and facility standards.

SPECIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions. Basic knowledge of applicable fields of maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC. Ability to use hand and power tools related to maintenance tasks.

EXPERIENCE

At least two years of trade or maintenance experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires considerable physical exertion, including climbing ladders and steps and lifting 100 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Considerable bending, stooping, and standing required in performing routine job tasks. Routine exposure to extreme heat, cold, moisture/wetness, air/noise pollution, and chemical gases and substances.
