Process Engineer

Our Client in the Kansas City, MO area is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to design material handling systems, specifically liquid handling systems within the food production industry. The successful candidate will bring creativity and will be given a wide range of latitude to complete the project on time and within budget.

Essential Functions:

• Provide technical expertise and project leadership for small to large projects from pre-sales through project management, fabrication, FAT, SAT and customer training.
• Uses customer's specifications to engineer a project design that allows for a constructible system.
• Customer interaction to clarify details needed for complete drawings.
• Reviews and corrects customer approval drawings on projects, and provides direction to CAD Designers regarding approval drawings.
• Generates BOM's and approves drawings as needed.
• Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist in the development of company engineering design procedures and standards.
• Meet or exceed project deadlines and budgets.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) required. Masters Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of industry experience required. Sanitary processing experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with pneumatic and liquid conveying or related industrial process applications preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
• Strong critical thinking, objective reasoning and problem solving skills.
• Previous experience leading and mentoring junior engineers required.
