As a SAS Quality Assurance Team Lead, you will work as a part of a dynamic team involved in testing for new systems and enhancements of existing Data Warehouse, Analytic and Reporting Systems, and ETL applications. The role will involve setting test strategy and direction, developing test scripts using programmable SQL and database scripting, defect tracking and reporting. This opportunity is a technical hands-on role leading a team of quality assurance engineers responsible for testing and validation of extract transform and load data and analytics for complex database and reporting systems.


 


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Software Test Planning - Analyze and dissect system requirements and technical specifications to create and execute test cases for large business initiatives

  • Software Test Design - Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures

  • Software Test Execution - Performs complex data extracts/analysis and works with research analysts and developers to provide validation of statistical analysis

  • Software Issue Remediation - Identify, analyze, and document problems with functionality, output files or tables

  • Manage Testing Effort within Software Development Lifecycle - apply solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, from perspective of Data WarehouseETL and QA process   

  • Mentor project team members on best practices for following SDLC

  • Reporting - Create Metrics and status reports for projects

  • Work concurrently on several projects

  • Self-motivated to prioritize work on multiple complex assignments

  • Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision

  • Lead small team of Software QA Engineers - Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement.  Work in onshore/offshore environment

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 




  • 3+ years of quality assurance/software testing experience


  • 1+ years of experience testing large, complex Data Warehouse/ETL applications


  • 2+ years of experience with SAS, including SAS Base, SAS Macros and/or other SAS tools


  • 2 years of experience using SQL query techniques to access relational databases (solid ability to do table joins, create complex queries and stored procedures)


  • Excellent time/project management, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:




  • Bachelor degree in related field


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


  • Experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Data Stage, Informatica, etc.)


  • Experience leading team of QA engineers in an onshore/offshore model environment


  • Experience with defect management solutions such as Quality Center/ALM


  • Experience with UNIX


  • Agile methodology experience


  • Healthcare industry experience
