About this job

A senior / experienced internal audit professional to join our team as an Internal Audit Manager for a leading bank in Salt Lake City. This is a full-time position. The candidate must have experience and strong knowledge of banking regulations, who has audited all banking areas. The successful candidate has audit experience in the consumer and commercial lending, and has audited various government-sponsored programs, especially familiar with various SBA programs.


The individual would have a highly visible and crucial role in performing and leading the engagements including evaluating internal controls, performing and documenting audit test work, communicating audit issues to management and identifying and recommending emerging areas of risk or opportunities for more effective and efficient audit processes.

  • 5+ years of relevant internal audit or public accounting experience in a regulated bank environment
  • 4 year degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
  • Ability to review and analyze financial data, including balancing sheets & income statements, tax returns
  • Familiar with relevant regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Ability to recognize and focus on critical issues. Flexibility to balance and respond to competing needs with the audit schedule.
  • Professional certification or advanced degree preferable but not required (CPA, MBA. CIA, CFE, CRCM, etc.)
  • Strong research, investigative and analytical skills
  • Planning and project management skills
  • Outstanding initiative, and strong written communication and interpersonal skills are required with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to management
  • Knowledge of federal and state banking rules and regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), e-mail, and web-based applications
  • Has audit experience in the following compliance, lending and operational areas:

-BSA/AML/OFAC,
-Flood Insurance,
-S.A.F.E. Act.,
-Reg. W 23a & 23b,
-Fair Lending,
-CRA
-HMDA
-Various regulations as such: reg. GG, DD, D, E, C, B, CC, O, P, Z, RESPA.
-Government sponsored lending programs such as: SBA, USDA, CALCAP, FHA, VA,
-Vendor Management/third party service provide
