About this job

Aerotek is currently seeking industrial workers to work in a metal production facility in northeast Portland, OR. The shift will alternate between 12 hour day shifts & 12 hour night shifts and will require overtime.

On a daily basis these individuals will:

  • Work in an environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise.
  • Keep accurate and legible records. Maintain clean, safe work area.
  • Maintain working knowledge of standard practice instructions.
  • Use remotely controlled overhead cranes to stack and unstack steel plate, load and unload plate on conveyor system, and load and unload plate on trucks and rail cars.
  • Use the following tools: burning machines, track burners, tape measure, striker, torch wrench, broom, shovel, pry bar, automatic cutting torches, track torches, hand held torches and computer.
  • Communicate (hand/verbal) with crane operator.
  • Perform safety inspections on equipment as required.
  • Assist other crew members in their areas as instructed by supervisor.
  • Requires frequent walking, stooping, and periodic heavy lifting.

Seeking experienced construction or industrial laborers who have a passion for learning about the process of Heat Treating Steel. Location is at a local Steel Mill and we are willing to train if you are willing to learn!
