Key Responsibilities
The Strategic Accounts Manager, West Coast USA/CAN-Global Marine, hereafter referred to as the Position, is a sales position reporting to the Manager, The Americas, Global Marine Platform, PPG, Protective & Marine Coatings. The Position is responsible for the sale of marine coatings to sea-going, deep-draft ship owners & operators who purchase their paints from the US and Canada.
The Position’s territory shall include the West Coast of the United States (CA, OR, WA) and Vancouver, BC, Canadian. The Position’s sales responsibilities shall include all non-US Government ship owners/operators, regardless of where their ships receive paints or dry-dock. The Position shall also provide support to PPG’s new building efforts in other world regions by achieving placement into owner’s “makers list” and identifying owner’s warranty requirements.
The Position shall be provided with the communication and computing tools necessary to network among a global team of Strategic Account Managers, manage plans and actions, plan and track opportunities, and share all with colleagues within the PPG Global Marine community.
Qualifications
Experience and Education
Background in shipboard operations (Masters, Mates, Engineers)
Education in related maritime programs
Functional and Technical Skills
Background in land based marine operations (ship management/operations/technical operations)
Background in shipboard operations (Masters, Mates, Engineers)
Education in related maritime programs
Experience in the sale and/or application of marine coatings and linings.
Experience in the sale and customer support for other related products as purchased locally, shipped globally to ship owners/operators.
Skilled at coordinating with supply chain teams and buyers for overseas logistics.
Excellent communication skills; speaking, listening writing, and entertaining senior managers/executives.
