The Senior Data Warehouse Lead is responsible for the evolving design, development and support of the Data Warehousing platform for Optum CAC. You will be the hands on technical lead of the ETL, Reporting, and Visualization strategy for the CAC product line. While your primary role will be bringing to life the next generation of data consumption and reporting for CAC customers, you will also leverage your experience and expertise in aligning the CAC Data Warehouse design choices with the broader enterprise Data Warehousing strategy, through regular checkpoints with the Enterprise Architecture team, providing visibility through sound documentation, and open communication.  The Sr. Data Warehouse Lead reports to the Director of Software Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead Data Warehousing initiatives that provide new or enhanced functionality for both internal and external customers


• Accountability for the enterprise data architecture decisions and compliance to enterprise data architecture models through a data architecture governance processes


• Training and mentorship of other technical personnel, providing feedback on database scripting, programming techniques and production system configuration


• Provide technical leadership for data warehousing and BI architecture, design, and development


• Define, design, and oversee implementation of standards and best practices for data modeling, describing data entities and relationships, master data, meta data, data quality, and data governance


• Collaborate with application, solution, and technical architects to understand the implications of respective architectures on data architecture and to maximize the value of information across the organization


• Keep apprised of emerging technologies to validate that the technology and architecture is appropriate for business solution needs and communicates assessment to the rest of the team

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an Enterprise Data Architect in large scale environments


• 5+ years of experience with at least 4 of the following:
  
  
  
  • Data Migration tools - implemented data migration strategies
  
  
  • Data Modeling
  
  
  • Data Integration
  
  
  • Data Warehousing architecture and design
  
  
  • OLAP
  
  
  • MDX


• Minimum of 5 years of responsibility for creation of SOW as well as detailed estimates


• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with mission critical, highly-available databases in a clustered environment


• Minimum of 10 years of SQL scripting experience


• Bachelor's degree in technical field of equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with industry standard tools such as Cognos, Tableau, Qlikview, etc.


• Experience with two or more of following:  C/C++, C#, ASP.Net, ASP, Python, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS


• Understanding of SAN architectures


• Experience working in a highly dynamic environment


• Experience working with large, commercial data sets within a Data Warehouse environment


• Experience with MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop or other NoSQL databases


• Knowledge of Big Data and the principles to support the use of this type of technology.


• Professional communication and presentation skills


• Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities


• Ability to work collaboratively in global project with a positive team spirit and ensure team work and coordination.


• Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels to understand requirements
