Coordinate and conduct installation, maintenance and repairs to electrical equipment, mechanical equipment and piping systems including pipefitting, welding, fabrication and rigging. Installation services and construction work in accordance with safety standards and fire codes.

Electrical and Mechanical/Fabrication/Welding/Pipefitting Skill Requirements
  • Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications. Machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, air compressors, pumps, vacuum pumps, positive displacement pumps, diaphragm pumps, HVAC, chilled water systems, elevators, emergency generators, fire pump, nitrogen system, floor scales, pneumatics, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment, fans, blowers, etc. using hand tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Operates and maintains plant utility systems.
  • Operatres and maintains the plant medium pressure boilers, steam piping and systems. Operates and maintains all of the boiler auxiliary systems. Operates and maintains the warehouse hot water heating system boiler and auxiliary equipment.
  • Installation, maintenance and repair of piping systems including the ability to weld, solder, braze and thread stainless steel, carbon steel, copper and plastics materials.
  • Experienced in MIG, TIG and Stick welding of stainless steel, aluminum and steel.
  • Repairs to fork lifts.
  • Examines equipment to diagnose trouble of a mechanical or electrical nature.
  • Basic understanding of PLC based controls, variable speed drives and process control systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting preferred.
  • Insures that all work meets prescribed standards of quality and insures compliance with all laws, safety procedures, policies and codes.
  • Knowledge of the principles of electricity, hydraulics, mechanical systems, pneumatics, carpentry, plumping, pipe fitting, welding and fabrication.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 3-5 years experience in an industrial/production environment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complicated blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, electrical formulas and handbooks.
  • Ability to use various testing devices related to the electrical and mechanical trades.
  • Must have a current valid driver's license.
  • Must have ability to operate fork lift.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft computer applications used for compiling data and work records.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding service environment.
  • Ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
