Position Description:

OptumHealth, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of companies, is looking for an experienced SAS Developer to join our dynamic team.  Things are exciting at OptumHealth as we are experiencing unprecedented growth, and looking for someone with the right skills and experience for our Eden Prairie MN location.
 
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Primary resource to complete analysis, design, & development of new or improved eVisor rule sets.
  • Evaluates all existing populations and available data to improve identification & stratification.
  • Provides identification, stratification, and analysis expertise to product/program rule development and evaluation. 
  • As new data streams are considered for eVisor integration, this individual will evaluate data and test potential rules to assure predictable prevalence and accurate identification of consumers or providers for intervention initiatives.
  • Organizes, sorts, and filters data in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends.
  • Develops and maintains data preparation and validation routines to support data mining and has experience in creating complex data mining algorithms.
  • Selects, recommends and applies appropriate analytic and statistical methodologies and techniques to execute against an analysis plan or research objectives.
  • Responsible to assure all rules align with product/program value proposition.
  • Responsible for analysis of all new eVisor data streams to determine standards required and prevalence expectations prior to implementation of rule set.
  • Develops and implements strategy to maintain rule accuracy.
  • Responsible for identifying, analyzing, correcting, and deploying rule set inaccuracies within 60 days of identification.
  • Establish and maintain standard documentation for all clinical rules with in each data set used for identification.
  • Establish and implement initiatives to achieve reduced ‘event to identification/referral' for all clinical rule sets.
  • Identify program/rule conflict and presents analysis and recommendation to stakeholders.
  • Provides stakeholder reporting on all rule governance activities and decisions.
  • Resource related to emerging trends in identification and stratification to programs/products across all segments.
  • Participant/Presenter at Enterprise Governance Council and all segment Annual Product/Program.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ year of experience with project management working with complex projects 
  • Prior knowledge with medical claim processing 
  • Previous experience with SAS programming
