1st and 2nd Shift Punch Press Operator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• Operate presses, which cut various materials with or without feed systems.
• Visually inspect material while operating presses.
• Identify problems, which may occur.
• Refer problems to Manager or setup person for solution.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITIES

• Use SPC techniques as required.
• May check work on Micro Vu Optical Comparator.
• Follow departmental job policies and procedures departmental job policies and procedures.
• Maintain a neat, safe work area.
• May be asked to represent department on Safety, Quality and other committees.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have good manual dexterity and good eye and hand coordination.
• Must have good math background, as may be required to make measurements.
• Must be able to read and write competently, as will be required to work with job orders. Usually these skills are exhibited through the attainment of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be willing to perform tasks listed in other pay grade job descriptions as required.
• Punch press experience helpful.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements in close vision.
