PURPOSE
This position is responsible for cashiering, handling product returns, performing basic cash office functions, and providing every customer with an exceptional shopping experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCATIONS
* Act and work in a manner that is consistent with company's core values.
* Demonstrate a thorough understanding and compliance with the company's safe lifting practices standard operating procedures
* Greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner
* Process customers at checkout using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system
* Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines
* Open and close cash registers
* Follow established cash, check and charge card acceptance procedures
* Answer the telephone according to accepted guidelines established by Floor and De'cor
* Stock and tag merchandise displays as required
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
* High School Diploma or GED
* At least one (1) year of cashier or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential
functions of the job, as determined by the company.
* Must possess excellent customer service skills
* Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (Must be able to use a calculator.)
* Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require evening and weekend shifts
* Must pass pre-employment background check
Physical/Sensory Requirements
Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
