Lowe’s Summer Internship Program offers challenging assignments to undergraduate and graduate students, enhancing their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE 100 company. The summer internship program begins in late May and ends in mid-August. All internships are paid and housing is available for interns who qualify Candidates must be currently enrolled students in an accredited degree-seeking program in order to be eligible for an internship. This position has potential for full-time conversion upon candidate’s graduation. MBA intern will be responsible for the financial evaluation, modeling and reporting for an innovation center initiative. He or She will be required to interact daily with the business partner (Director/VP level) as the business develops new ideas/concepts/etc with the goal of driving profitable sales at Lowe’s. Intern will be responsible for developing operating P&Ls, reporting and analysis of performance. Intern will act as liaison between all of finance and the business unit meaning he/she must escalate any issues as it pertains to tax, risk, procurement, accounting, etc. Intern will be required to package proforma and analysis into clear and concise presentation formats. Internship Areas: USHI Operations, M&E Business, Corporate Planning or Shared Services. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Excel, Finance, Financial Modeling (IRR, SVA, Cash Flow Statements, Balance Sheet, WACC), P&L experience, advanced mathematics, driven, self-motivator. Ability and drive to analyze problems incorporating different perspectives and ideas. Great communicator – able to communicate ideas to people at all levels of management. Self motivated – someone that is willing to take the lead on projects and ask the difficult questions of our business partners. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Major(s): Rising 2nd year MBA student concentrating in Finance. Any analytical, problem solving work experience (engineering, finance, hard science) is preferred.
