Job Description: Wide variety of projects from hotels, food processing, restaurants, retail/office, and warehouse projects. We are looking for a Superintendent to work in our Agricultural division. This person will be in charge of overseeing the work done on large poultry facilities.
They will schedule management, work with subcontractors, and stand alone on site. On average, they may be overseeing the work of 75-100 subcontracted crew members on site.

Prior to project the PM will give the Superintendent a schedule and they will discuss it together so both understand at what pace the project should move. They will be overseeing work to make sure each subcontractor is in and out on schedule. Sending photos and documentation of the project's progress to the Project Manager.

This person can work a 10 days on, 4 days off rotation if desired to travel back home.
Work Environment: Outside Construction in a rural work site in MN, IA, NE, MO or other midwestern state. New Build and Renovation projects. Qualifications: >5+ years working as a Superintendent
OR 5+ years working as an Assistant superintendent at a large GC.
>Must be able to travel for projects: Typical projects last 2 months to 3 years
>Independent: PM sits in Johnston office
>Able to move locations from time to time depending on project needs
>Camera Skills: take pictures from a digital camera and move the files to a computer
>Computer Skills: Save pictures and email to PM, type in information to a pre-made excell spreadsheet to send to PM.
Performance Expectations: Best vs. Avg:
>Someone with Superintendent experience on projects such as: machine shed, swine, poultry, feed and grain background or have worked in rural settings.
> Lives in camper and travels with the job sites
>Excellent with layout plans since they need to consider the ventilation, cage equipment, processing, packaging and cooling sections of plant. (A subcontractor installs those things)
>Knowledge of automation (Owner furnishes the ag belts and cages)
>Worked on Stick Framed, Energy Pannel and wood trusses.

1st Day Requirements: This person will be expected to come into the job knowing the basics of how to set up schedules, hold subcontractor meetings, speak with others on coordinating materials and manpower, take and send photos utilizing a laptop.

Performance Measures:
The PM oversees the Superintendent and the project's progression. Safety manager will visit the site from time-to-time if there is an issue with the progress. Performance is based on how smoothly the project is progressing in a timely manner.
Interview Information: This interview will discuss previous project experience the candidate has. We really looking for a culture fit. Someone who will fit in will be humble yet able to speak up and hold subcontractors to a schedule. "Down to earth" people. We have many repeat clients and the majority of our work is negotiated so customer satisfaction is #1. Additional Compensation: This position is salary. They will be expected 5+ hours of OT a week and work to keep the project on schedule.
Per Diem is offered for those who need it ($24.56/day). Gas Card given. Car allowance is given ($500/mo). The day starts when the person arrives on the job site. (not paid for travel time - this position will report 40/hr week regardless)
Additional Information: There will be NO estimating or change orders.
