Aerotek Commercial Staffing is currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for one of our clients in the Seaford, Delaware area. This opportunity is a 6 month contract which offers the opportunity to go permanent with the client.

Job Description:

Creates machining program/instructions to manufacture a part/object using a CNC machine.
Operates Lathes and Mills within the facility.
Uses three-dimensional computer-aided/automated design (CAD) blueprints and determines cut paths, tools, etc., and other calculations.
Translates the program / instructions into a computer aided / automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
Company has purchased new automated equipment, candidate should have experience working with computers
Verifies the program/instructions, or runs a simulation, prior to the actual use of the program/instructions on the machine to make the part/object.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
Determines the sequence of shaping operations and chooses the cutting tools needed.
Analyzes job orders, drawings, blueprints and other data and then performs all the necessary calculations
Modifiesor or makes adjustments to existing programs when necessary
Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, etc.; calculates requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Ensures that the machines and programs operate correctly and that products meet specifications.
Adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Plans machining program/instructions by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
Assists management with continuous improvement activities using the CAR, PAR and Improvement Idea systems.
Ability to work on an individual basis as well as within a Team environment.
Ensures that work area is clean and well organized. This includes the floor, work stations and any equipment in the area

Shift:
Monday - Friday

7:00am - 3:30pm
Depending on the need may have to work an occasional Saturday.
