Product Analyst - Private Student Loans ID# P134056

The Student Loan Product Analyst is responsible for supporting the Product Managers in their role to grow Discovers market share in private student loans.

For all student loan products, the individual will have the responsibility for developing financial models to assist in pricing strategy; recommending new product initiatives and enhancements based on internal and competitive research; forecasting new volume; monitoring portfolio volume; managing product profitability and performance, and working cross-functionally to execute related initiatives.

Position Description
Analyst will provide support to the Product Managers in their efforts to develop, implement and manage growth related strategies related to Discover Student Loans including new product development and system upgrades and enhancements. The Analyst will contribute to annual and monthly origination forecasts and help set relevant product performance targets and high-level business strategies for product delivery to meet target volumes.
Analyst will research and maintain current information on regulatory, economic and competitive trends in the industry; and contribute to product growth, market share and customer satisfaction issues that affect the product set and customer experience.
The Analyst will maintain effective contact with key business stakeholders to ensure their understanding of product strategies as well as facilitating the flow of information to ensure achievement of business objectives and client satisfaction.

Skills Required
• Bachelors Degree in Finance or related program: Master’s Degree preferred
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent research skills
• Practical experience with financial modeling (price modeling preferred)
• Understanding of Financial and Credit Risk is ideal
• Proven ability to manage projects effectively
• Demonstrated ability to innovate and think strategically
• Proficient in developing analytics from database queries or tools
• Effective at moving multiple, concurrent initiatives to closure
• Team player with ability to influence senior management and work cross functionally to achieve goals
• Ability to establish trust and build alliances with co-workers and strategic partners
• Professional and effective verbal and oral communication skills
