Material Handler - Warehousing/Shipping - Full-time

Purpose: To effectively safeguard Hero's material assets while following CGMP's policies; to support the flow of materials through the supply chain


Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent education or experience;
At least five years of relevant warehouse experience;
Experience operating fork lift; certification required;
Must be able to perform all math functions and basic calculations;
Must be able to work at an efficient and consistent pace commensurate;
Able to perform manual operations with a high degree of reproducibility and quality;
Able to perform all work tasks associated with the running and maintaining a warehouse;
Must be able to read and write English;
Basic ERP experience - transactions and reports;
General computer use experience.


Responsibilities and Expectations:

Materials:

Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the storage facility;
Examine and prepare components, supplies, goods and finished products for incoming and outgoing shipments (shipping and receiving);
Load and unload material within warehouse or storage facility;
Stage raw materials for production department;
Receive, store, and distribute materials and equipment;
Participate in inventory control and cycle counting, as well as physical inventory processes;
Maintain warehouse inventory items - ordering as needed, ensuring stock levels;
Ensure compliance with cGMP and warehouse "Best Practices";
Liaison with QC/ QA on projects and material issues;
Complete quality training and follow all relevant SOPS for material handling in a manufacturing environment.


Receiving: Stakeholder for the Receiving department - Ownership of the Receiving function:

Receives and processes all incoming deliveries;
Processing of deliveries against Purchase Orders within the ERP system;
Follows QC/ QA SOP's for the Receiving function;
Assigns Lot numbers, weighs and labels all incoming items;
Receive, inspect, unpack and store materials and supplies after items have been inspected and released by Quality Assurance;
Records receiving information, such as weight, charges, carrier space availability, damages, purchase order discrepancies and non-conformances for Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and Accounting.


Shipping:

Review and assemble sales orders, label shipping boxes and prepare items for shipment;
Follow all prescribed methods of crating, boxing and/ or skidding;
Ensure that all pick orders are pulled correctly, staged and verified by two staff associates (All picking sheets require two signatures and date prior to releasing shipment. );
Plan transfer of products to shipping docks or trucks;
Record shipment data in Shipping Software: weight, charges, carrier information.



Fork Lift:

Operate fork lift (reach and platform) and pallet jack;
Load pallets onto freight forwarders;
Place raw materials in proper rack locations in warehouses;
Move product to designated floor locations;
Maintain forklift charge levels, maintenance and safety;
Check battery water level; replenish as indicated; record findings in log weekly.


Warehouses:

Performs inventory adjustments and transfers within the ERP system;
Ensures that all inventory is located in the proper "Bin Location" - matches the ERP system;
Performs weekly cycle counts and adjusts inventory as needed - inventory stakeholder;
Verify, count and weigh product - as needed;
Stage and transfer components and bulk for Production Department;
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of both warehouses, including driveways, trash bin, parking lot and employee covered area;
Complete log book on a weekly basis per the Facilities Sanitation and Maintenance SOP and checklist.
Ensure warehouses are safe and main aisles cleared, with the exception of the Bulk warehouse quarantine area and Main warehouse Production work in process pallets;
Ensure all products are placed in designated labeled areas;
Assist with annual Physical Inventory's;
Perform routine maintenance and repair;
Complete cleaning per prescribed schedule;
Keep supplies and work area clean and orderly at all times;
