Marco Island Lakeside Inn is looking for a Houseman/Laundry man. This position supports the Housekeeping team by performing a variety of laundry duties to provide clean and sanitary linens and terry for our guests, including but not limited to washing, drying, sorting and inspecting items for wear and tear and stains. It retrieves and delivers all linens to every room. This position maintains the linen standards. It may also be asked to assist cleaning rooms/public space when needed.
Position Goals and Responsibilities:
* This position is responsible for providing support to the Housekeeping team,- ensuring brand standards and guest expectations are upheld,- establishing trust and consistency in the brand:
o Ensure all laundry is appropriate washed, dried and folded
o Ensure the laundry runs efficiently and hygienically
o Utilize the appropriate linen baskets to retrieve soiled and deliver clean laundry from each room
o Prepare linen baskets for each room
o To adhere to the washing/drying instructions and report any faults to the Maintenance person
o Assist with linen installation, as needed
o Keep the laundry area clean and tidy
o Sweep the floor and empty the bin at the end of your shift
o Gather and deliver inventory requested by the Housekeeping Supervisor
o Offer exceptional customer service, when applicable
Physical Requirements:
This position demands good physical and mental health. The Laundry personnel will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule. The Laundry personnel must be able to move continuously during work hours. Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds without the assistance of an elevator.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position all candidates must have the following:
* Minimum of 6 months experience and/or training as a Housekeeper; Hospitality experience, preferred; however training will be provided
* Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
Applicant MUST have the following skills:
* Excellent communication skills to include:
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
o Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
o Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
* Acute sense of urgency, with strong time management skill
* Ability to prioritize and multi-task
* Extremely detail-oriented
* Basic computer skills (to track Time & Attendance)
