Job overview

Maintain all floors in a clean and sanitary condition in public areas and hotel work areas according to standard procedures in a safe, accident-free manner, as assigned by management.

What you will be doing

• Sweep, strip, mop, wax and buff floors, and set up wet floor signs to ensure guest safety.
• Vacuum carpeting. Remove stains from carpets and floors.
• Remove trash to dumpster.
• Notify housekeeping office of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed, damages in carpeting or floor covering and update housekeeping management on the progress and status of area of responsibility.
• Report safety hazards or theft of hotel property to director of services.

Requirements

• No formal education needed
• Must possess knowledge of chemical mixtures and read labels 
• Use of floor care equipment and cleaning/waxing supplies
• Must be able to operate a floor cleaning machine
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Must be able to communicate in English with our Service Express team
• Must be comfortable using a radio and able to communicate with staff
• Must have at least 1 year of Floor cleaning, and Houseman experience working in a hotel environment or related field
