Key Responsibilities

The role of this position is to secure product position on architectural projects that will drive sales in the Commercial Construction segment. The incumbent will attain objectives by identifying, managing and securing specification position on key construction projects in an assigned geographical territory. This will be achieved by managing the commercial construction channel by building relationships with key decision makers including architects, glazing contractors, glass fabricators, general contractors, and owner / developers. This position will also identify opportunities for new product development, support new product efforts, and provide ongoing marketing intelligence.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

This position requires an individual ranging from medium to highly skilled in market development and sales competencies with a strong ability to comprehend and convey technical concepts related to product design and performance. It requires an individual with a robust knowledge level of the commercial construction industry, and the manufacturing, sales, distribution, fabrication, marketing, and installation of commercial building products.
The incumbent must possess outstanding organizational and communication skills, both written and oral. They must be able to understand construction market, product, technical, customer, and design issues. Successful candidates must be willing to travel regionally as required (50-75% of time).
The incumbent must be able to prioritize effectively, be a proven self-starter, possess strong analytical skills, and be proficient in both individual and team based business interactions at multiple levels of the construction channel.
A college degree in business or a technical field is required.

Functional and Technical Skills

-Proven experience in customer service or inside sales
-Nominal direct outside sales or promotional experience
-Acceptable knowledge of glass industry and construction channel
-Ability to master Architectural Promotion skills
-Manages key projects regionally
-Ability to develop and manage key relationships with all channel influentials
-Ability to master Architectural Promotion and Project Tracking skills
-Manages key national stakeholder relationships (AIA, CSI, BEC, etc.)
-PPG Industry speaker at national conventions
-Demonstrated leadership skills
-Intimate knowledge of construction market, key channel influential needs, etc.
-Ability to master Architectural Promotion, Project Tracking, and Organizational Enhancement skills (coach, train, and mentor new CMT personnel)

Location:

Southeast region, USA. This position is to be a home office position, located out of the Southeast areas of the United States and will cover this region.
