Manpower is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance/Control position for one of our clients in Franklin, Ohio! This is a Direct Hire Opportunity with a global company who is a leader in their industry. They offer competitive pay and benefits. Starting pay $15.00 an hour. Must be flexible to work all 3 shifts and work overtime as required. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for insuring that high quality specifications and expectations, both internal and external, are met through inspection and testing of raw materials and finished goods. Responsibilities also include the ability to work with others in a team environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Must work safely at all times, following all Plant and Division Safety rules and policies. Check/grade finished converted structures for color, registration, ink adhesion and physical dimensions. Use lab sealer to prepare heat and cohesive seals for testing. Use tensile tester to evaluate heat and cohesive seals and lamination bond strengths. Use analytical balances to weigh raw and finished material. Use X-Rite to test opacity of finished material. Perform standard procedures for organoleptic evaluation of finished material. Use gas chromatograph and integrator to perform head space analysis for solvent retention of flexible packaging. Use Thwing-Albert COF tester to analyze the coefficient of friction of substrates. Perform record keeping and compute statistics to evaluate all the above tests and procedures. Position Description: Quality Technician I Ability to perform the required functions of the Quality Assurance Table, including but not limited to: cutting samples, checking repeat, identifying and documenting print defects and notifying appropriate personnel. Ability to operate densitometer and X-Rite computer and any other associated software programs used in assessing color quality. Perform basic routine maintenance functions on laboratory equipment. Prepare job boards, color standard booklets and any other related materials must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Maintain organized and clean work area. Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to the spirit of total quality and continuous improvement in performing the essential job functions of the position. Performs other duties assigned or as the situation may dictate. Work overtime as required. Ability to work independently and with others. Regular attendance required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Ability to follow directions and complete assignments on time in a fast paced environment. Ability to maintain logs and records in a legible, accurate and timely manner. Must demonstrate desire, ability and initiative to advance in progression. Must adhere to high standards of professionalism when dealing with customers and coworkers on a daily basis. Physical Demands: Medium work requires exertion of up to fifty (50) lbs. of force occasionally, up to twenty (20) lbs. of force frequently and up to ten (10) lbs. of force constantly to move/lift objects vertically and/or horizontally. Visual, particularly color acuity for detecting flawed/substandard printing is vital for this position. WORK CONDITIONS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION: Work is primarily performed in laboratory or office environment. Some job functions may require time spent in manufacturing area. In accordance with the Safety Program, all employees receive informative training on required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), chemicals and equipment used within the laboratory and plant. Noise levels may fluctuate according to proximity of operating equipment.
