About this job


This individual will provide modeling and analytical supports for various departments, including credit risk management, marketing, corporate risk management, internal audit, and finance. The required skills include model design, model development, model validation, model updates, and model performance evaluations. He or she will utilize with internal and external data as well as evaluate industry, economics, and market information to deliver model related analytics and results for different business functions constituents. He or she will act as a control point for planning, implementing and interpreting modeling results.

• Manages the relationship with related business partners and ensures that modeling projects are delivered in a timely manner
• Responsible for model design, development, model implementation, model usage, and model governance requirements
• Performs in-depth modeling audits, including process evaluations of modeling related activities such as data quality, model performance tracking, and model governance policy
• Leverages industry, economic, and market information to perform valuations of capital investment, loss forecasting, treasury function, and other financial model related activities
• Develops and executes complex analysis using machine learning techniques and methods in banking operations including credit risk management, marketing and fraud areas
• Evaluates external data and model vendors. Identifies, evaluates and recommends alternatives to business solutions in order to keep DFS on the technology frontier
• Maintains a high level of competency in statistical and analytical principles, tools and techniques

Skills Required: M.S. in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, and other quantitative fields. Advanced degree preferred
• Three to five years of financial industry experience
• Strong computer skills, experience with statistical software and other analytical tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Extensive project management and leadership skills
• Proven problem solving and decision making skills
• Project management experience in a high-profile, deadline driven environment
• Familiarity with current regulatory requirements and model governance policy
• In-depth knowledge of financial valuation methods and practices in consumer lending areas
