PURPOSE:
The purpose/objective of the Cost Accountant role is to support the site and segment to improve the operational performance and reduce the risks by having a complete understanding of the site operations and customers. This person will support in providing complex solutions related to accounting, operations, and financial aspects of the business.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES / DUTIES:
The Cost Accountant is responsible for leading cost activities such as:
Reviewing quote Vs actual performance
Analyzing full customer P&L's and evaluating key metrics to establish profitability concerns
Ensure all Balance Sheet bookings are aligned to internal controls and account classifications.
Kaizen projects to drive process efficiencies and cost reductions in our daily activities and on the production floor.
Sales and MCOS reconciliation against the shipments for the month
Review and manage P&L discussions with the site program managers.
Cost analysis on a daily basis for Work Orders, EDM's, MOH, G&A, Inventory Adjustments, PPV, etc.
Identify and communicate possible exposures to financial management
Support operations management and the business segments to achieve profitable growth
Actively participate in internal and external audits :

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES / DUTIES:
Partner with PMs & Planners to drive Margin Analysis and Production Order Analysis.
Provide financial advisory of various operation / material processes
Prepare weekly P&L package
Corporate Reporting - Ensure accurate and timely submission of annual, quarterly, adhoc, corporate and SOX reporting (eg Cost accounting roadmap)
Drive Cycle Count Excellence and partner with Inventory Control on Cycle count issues and resolutions (including cycle count finance audit)
E&O Deep Dive - Drive accurate E&O reserve calculation and drive ITO improvement awareness within planner team
Perform finance / operation process improvement projects
GD GRNI reconciliation
Month End Closing & Reporting (GD & Juniper revenue and cost reconciliation, work orders review,Quarterly Juniper cost roll up, KOI metrics reporting, flash report, etc.)
Support site controller in analyzing actual, forecast data and key metrics
Prepare year end package
Forecast loading to OLS (site P&L and B/S, allocation driver), Prepare Forecast File monthly
Assist in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance project
Support internal / external audit

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: (include experience required with specific software applications, equipment, or specific certifications and education requirements such as MSME, MSEE, APICS, etc)
REQUIRED Basic Qualifications (must have skills):
* Understanding of accounting and operational process flow
* 6+ years operational finance experience
* BA in accounting / finance
* Proficiency in ERP system and MS office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Motivated self-starter with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask and priortize. Ability to quickly learn new skills, systems and processes.


Qualifications :
MBA or CPA perferred
