Looking for experience in Public Relations? Public Relations Interns will develop content for the Universal Orlando blog and YouTube channel as well as work hand-in-hand with internal owned media channels, including Social Media, CRM and web. As part of the larger PR team, the Intern will also be exposed to major event planning, product announcement strategies and media relations.
Public Relations Interns at Universal Orlando are responsible for:
- Participating in brainstorming sessions for major tactics
- Assisting with building content plans for special projects and annual events
- Assisting with implementing tactics and event planning
- Assisting with regular content creation for UOR blog and social channels
- Assisting in video production
- Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities
- Performing other duties as assigned
To perform the role of a Public Relations Intern successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Consistent attendance is a job requirement
- Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA required
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday; 20+ hours per week
- Available to work weekends as needed
- Must be able to work from May through August 2015
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills; must be a team player
- Must have writing experience (preferably editorial or for social media)
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Workamajig and Word Press experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be an actively enrolled student for the Summer 2015 semester as a college Junior or Senior
- Must be pursuing a major in Public Relations, Communications, Advertising or Marketing
