The Manager of Business Operations is responsible for the management and administration of multiple non-customer facing functions and teams including: WorkLife Resource and Referral Coordinators (RRCs), EAP Research Specialists, Fulfillment and mail room staff, and the Educational Library coordinator.  This position will manage daily operations of multiple teams and levels of staff and is accountable for financial and non-financial results. Additionally, the Business Ops manager will monitor department and individual performance standards; make recommendations to enhance, streamline, and improve the provision of services; and provide on-going coaching and development of staff as well as succession planning. This position reports to the Director of Business Operations and will focus on execution of tactical and strategic plans within a fast paced, rapidly expanding environment.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Monitors individual and team performance to ensure performance objectives are met; mentors and offers constructive feedback as well as career development support and succession planning

  • Oversees work activities of other supervisors

  • Sets direction of teams/functions, resolves problems and provides guidance on challenges and opportunities

  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges

  • Advises senior leaders on key operations, determines performance objectives/metrics and defines tools to measure progress to ensure consistent achievement of business objectives

  • Analyzes performance data and works to reengineer processes through benchmarking

  • Administer business and financial plans to respond to strategic initiatives

  • Serves as a liaison with other departments and advocates for teams/functions internally and externally as appropriate

  • Communicates key information to staff including new client groups, procedures, policies, etc.

  • Responsible for creating a climate of superior performance and execution

  • Work with supervisors on all Human Resources initiatives including compensation planning, performance management, staffing and employee relations concerns/issues, employee recruitment, training, self-directed teaming and employee development

  • Performs other activities as directed by Director of Business Operations

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • BS/BA in business or related field

  • 5+ years of broad experience leading multi-functional teams

  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur cultural change, facilitating and enhancing performance within a cross-functional environment

  • Ability to drive change and influence individuals at all levels of the organization and to take appropriate risks

  • Knowledge and application of change management practices

  • Ability to identify needs and action solutions; influencing without formal authority

  • Experience leading other supervisors or managers

  • Knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures, including experience with performance management, career development and succession planning

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills

  • Strong, independent decision-making, problem solving, and analytical ability

  • Ability to respond quickly and professionally in a fast-paced work environment

  • Ability to master multiple priorities under tight deadlines; aggressive process and project management ability

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced business degree  

  • Previous experience working within a healthcare organization

  • Experience managing large team of telecommuters
