This role will provide financial support to win large and complex customer deals and partnership opportunities for Optum360. Success in this role will be dependent on an ability to successfully navigate and influence change across a matrix environment, quickly adapt to changing priorities, and an ability to clearly articulate business issues with recommended solutions - in the context of a fast paced and high-growth environment that has a long-term commitment to making health care better for everyone.

 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Participation in deal development and negotiations to achieve solutions that meet both internal and external requirements
  • Effectively communicate the Optum360 value proposition and ROI to prospective customers
  • Negotiation of win-win scenarios that maximize benefit and minimize risk for Optum360
  • Comprehensive ownership of detailed financial model and assumptions
  • Presenting deal economics, risks, mitigation strategies, and recommendations to senior management
  • Effectively partnering and negotiating with cross-functional teams that may include Sales, Finance, Product, Operations, Legal and customers
  • Leading the financial due diligence process to validate assumptions, identify opportunities, and quantify risks
  • Quickly establish a good rapport with prospective clients / partners to build credibility on behalf of Optum360
  • Providing broader support for other operational and strategic initiatives

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years of significant financial modeling (Excel) and analytic experience, including business development / M&A work
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic working environment with many near term and long term deliverablesStrong ability to work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment to drive revenue enhancement and expense management initiatives
  • Proven experience driving business performance in a high growth environment; exceptional financial acumen and P&L management skills
  • Prior work experience anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and operational issues, assessing their implications, and developing and implementing  appropriate action plans
  • Strong executive presence, communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency using PowerPoint to concisely communicate ideas
  • Ability to travel (up to 50-75%)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • MBA or CPA
  • Revenue Cycle Management or Healthcare experience
