STARBUCKS CAFE BARISTA
The Barista is responsible for providing great customer service by greeting customers, building relationships, and working effectively in a team environment. The Barista must be a quick learner and have the ability to remember ingredients, prepare quality beverages, and fill customer orders. The Barista must maintain a clean and sanitary work environment as well as ensure all bookstore property and personnel are secure.

Accountability:
55%: Prepare quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
20%: Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Follett Starbucks Cafe. Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team. Communicate information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a quality customer environment during each shift.
10%: Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.
5%: Deliver legendary customer service to all customers by connecting with the customer, responding to customer needs, and building relationships.
5%: Stock products. Organize and arrange merchandise as appropriate. Lift and carry boxes, books, and other merchandise.
5%: Perform other duties as assigned. May work on bookstore side when needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:
*Experience: 1+ year(s) previous Barista / food service experience required
*Education: High School Degree or equivalent
*Certifications Required: Food handlers certificate

Additional Requirements:
*Ability to stand for up to two or more hours at any given time.
*Ability to safely operate coffee equipment as necessary.
*Previous experience in a coffee shop, cafe environment (preferred).
*Attention to detail when performing transactions.
*Self-motivated. Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
*Proactive attitude in meeting both internal and external customer needs.
*Effective work methods.
*Effective communication skills-- clear, concise and positive.
*Computer literacy

Travel: 0-10%
Non-Standard Hours: Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
ADA Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel and bend.

BOOKSTORE SALES ASSOCIATE
The Sales Associate is responsible for greeting customers, assisting customers with store inquiries, answering the phone and/or directing callers, and operating the register. The Sales Associate uses safe money-handling procedures and secure transaction practices.

Duties:
*Operate the cash register, accept payments, give change, bag purchases, and process employee or faculty discounts as appropriate. Start up and shut down register, trouble-shoot, perform cashier audits, etc.
*Observe safe money-handling procedures and secure transaction practices when accepting cash payment, making change, accepting checks and credit card payments, and processing refunds/buybacks. Practice cashier integrity to safeguard register and drawer deposits.
*Test EAS security system daily and approach customers who set off EAS system investigating alarms, resolving issues and logging EAS activations.
*Carry and shelve merchandise inventory; may also pull and package merchandise for return to vendors. Straighten merchandise, stock shelves, price merchandise, and assist in setting up displays and signs. Mop, vacuum, clean shelves and take out trash.
*Ensure inventory controls tags are removed and/or replaced on merchandise according to company standards as applicable.
*Pick, process and pack orders for shipping in accordance with Retail Store Operations.
*Fill in for other employees during absences, for breaks and lunches, and during periods of high volume.
*May perform data entry or type simple correspondence, including printing and system back-up.
*Take inventory as needed.
*May provide customer service/sales functions for special events (including but not limited to author signings, graduation and athletic events).
*May very likely work in Starbucks cafe when needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:
*0-12 months of previous retail or clerical experience preferred.
*Strong customer service skills including effective communication.
*Computer literacy.
*Ability to prioritize and organize workload.
