Will lead the development of business unit growth strategies, as well as developing strategic plans that will drive growth. This includes understanding the competitive landscape, market dynamics and trends, voice of the customer and solution gaps, as well as opportunities for respective markets. Markets include but are not limited to: Provider, Payer, Patient/Consumer and Employer. The Vice President of Market Strategy will also be responsible for influencing the strategic partnership pipeline to continually understand how the Optum Analytics business can expand and enhance strategic growth areas for the business. Requires close interaction with Product Management and Marketing, Client Services and Sales Management.


 


This key role reports into the Chief Product Officer of Optum Analytics


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Demonstrated understanding of and familiarity with major healthcare industry trends and opportunities

  • Demonstrated experience in initiating, conducting and synthesizing disparate research to identify business implications and recommendations

  • Develop strategies to drive growth in core and adjacent areas

  • Create product vision and strategic communication with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Effectively prioritize product and technology roadmaps and processes that drive growth and product success

  • Be an expert on our competition and how our products compare in detail; Facilitates/influences changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance

  • Drive a solution through market requirements, product pricing, contracting, and Understand client/market workflow at a deep level in order to translate market requirements to Product Development and the value proposition to downstream functions (marketing, sales, operations)

  • Be a trusted advisor with the ability to influence stakeholders (including C-level), lead projects, and manage challenging interactions and effectively communicate value propositions

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • 10+ years overall work experience

  • At least 5 years of healthcare industry experience in business development, marketing or product strategy

  • Successful track record of delivering innovative products to market in the healthcare industry

  • BA or BS degree required, MBA or related MS degree preferred

  • This position requires up to 30% travel
