In this Desktop Support Engineer position, you will have the opportunity to

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked and desktop software and associated operating systems.
  • Responsibilities include defining and analyzing Level III issue resolution, deployment services and adherence to ITIL process/procedures.
  • Manage workstations, laptops, mobile devices and Terminal Servers by creating consistent stable platforms and managing the software lifecycle
  • Evaluate, work with vendors and new technology, and test and create custom software distribution packages using PowerShell,MSI\MST technologies, InstallShield, AutoIT, Active Directory Group Policies and triggered scripts (login, logoff, etc.)
  • Install network applications and support complex and unique application configurations
  • Define, analyze and respond to all issues escalated from the Help Desk, Desktop Support and remote office support teams.
  • Participate in researching solutions, develop action plans, create timelines and implement deployment package solutions for large, complex projects
  • Adhere to existing ITIL processes as documented and participate in the development of new processes that adhere to best practices or ITIL methodology
  • Participate in process improvement to promote efficiencies and positive customer experience
  • Create and maintain Active Directory user accounts for new hires, terminations, and distribution lists
  • Create and maintain Extranet AD and SharePoint sites
  • Manage encryption process for laptops and USB devices
  • Ensure security patches/updates are tested and deployed in a timely fashion.

Are you interested? The ideal Desktop Support Engineer candidate will possess the following experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science with a minimum of five years experience with computer applications including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • ITIL Foundations certified or proven experience working with ITIL processes
  • Strong background in packaging SCCM
  • Three years experience with desktop management systems (LanDesk, SCCM, Altiris), VB scripting, and package development/deployment
  • Three years experience working with desktop security including patch management, virus protection, and encryption methodologies
  • Working knowledge of network security
  • Working knowledge of virtual technologies including application virtualization and desktop virtualization
  • Working knowledge of BlackBerry Enterprise Server, BlackBerry devices, and other email delivery systems.
