As a Solution Architect, you will play an instrumental role as a liaison between our business partners and the Clinical System Delivery (CSD) organization. The Solution Architect will work regularly with project teams to serve as a key resource on complex issues, develop innovative solution approaches, and serve as a lead facilitator. In program/project teams, you will help lead collective groups to identify requirements, analyze and document solution options that satisfy those requirements, and ultimately gain consensus on a strategic technology solution to be implemented. The Solution Architect will monitor the project through detailed design, development and testing to ensure the successful deployment of the solution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate customer needs (Senior Leadership, Application Owners, Enterprise Project Managers, and Business Partners) and proactively develop solutions to meet them
  • Work within teams of Capability, Program, and Project Managers to use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
  • Collaborate with customer and technology teams using standard SDLC processes, including Optum Technology's Requirements Solution Analysis process
  • Investigates non-standard requests and problems, with some assistance from others
  • Negotiate, resolve, and prioritize issues and conflicting requirements by user groups. Provide clear, concise explanations and information to others on issues
  • Works with minimal guidance in area of expertise; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Estimate and organize own work to meet or negotiate deadlines
  • Work to identify common project needs to drive out opportunities for consolidation and reuse

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED Plus 3+ years of business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, software design or similar experience
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, software design, or a combination of roles within the SDLC lifecycle
  • 1+ year of experience streamlining and standardizing business processes
  • 1+ year of experience with facilitating Joint Application Design sessions/initiatives
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Previous involvement in development and deployment of a consumer or clinician-facing application
  • Experience with creating solution design diagrams (ex. BACD, SACD) using industry standard tools (ex. Visio, CaseWise)
