Radiology Tech
Our 521 bed hospital has provided state-of-the art medical care for residents of the Roanoke Valley and Southwest Virginia for more than 100 years. At LewisGale Medical Center, we specialize in select health care services, such as cardiac, cancer and maternity care, as well as business health and other ancillary services. This position will play a key part in continuing our success!
LewisGale Medical Center is currently looking for a Radiology Tech .
Responsibilities:
Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
Performs all general diagnostic radiographic procedures.
Observant of patients' conditions.
Practices radiation safety as described in Federal standards, utilizing ALARA policy.
Understands and operates electronic information systems, to include eMAR, Meditech, CR/DR and Pacs.
Compiles appropriate records to expedite results, to include documentation, scanning orders and questionnaires.
Operates mobile radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment within the department, in the OR environment, and throughout the hospital.
Administers contrast media as required. (full time employees)
Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of diagnostic radiology and to meet the continuing education requirements of the ARRT.
Takes call after regular hours.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of accredited school of Radiologic Technology
One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital environment preferred
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
ARRT Registered or registry eligible
Successful completion of formal computer courses preferred
