Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery

Lafayette Regional Health Center is a 25-bed acute care facility that is deeply rooted in the community it serves. Lafayette Regional includes all new private rooms with private baths, state-of-the art imaging and testing services, a full range of general and laparoscopic surgeries, wellness programs, and rehabilitation services. With a broad range of services, nearly 20 medical specialties are covered at Lafayette Regional.

Lafayette Regional Health Center is currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) –Surgery – Full Time Days

Responsibilities:

The role of the Registered Nurse is to perform patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director.

This position will also be oriented to perform Circulating RN duties in the Operating Room. Work in OR/Holding/PACU on a rotating basis.

Call rotation required.

This RN provides care to patients in the pre-anesthesia (holding), operating room, and post-anesthesia care areas to patients undergoing general, gynecologic, and orthopedic procedures.

This RN will also assist with GI and Pain management clinics.

The Registered Nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of LRHC.

The Registered Nurse in 704 PACU provides care for ages 1-12 Months Infant, 1-2 Yrs Toddler, 3-6 Yrs Early Child, 7-11 Yrs Child, 12-17 Yrs Adolescent, 18-39 Yrs Young Adult, 40-64 Yrs Adult and 65 Geriatric patients. Qualifications:

Graduate of Professional School of Nursing, BSN preferred.

Must hold a current license from the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

BLS required.

ACLS required.

PALS within 6 months of hire.

Previous experience in OR, PACU, or Critical Care nursing preferred.

Detail-oriented with ability to sustain concentration over long periods of time.

Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
