Position Summary:
Maint Mech III - Electronics Tech: Install, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, perform preventive maintenance and perform modifications on electrical and electronic circuits and equipment. Performs electrical safety inspections.
Maint Mech III - Plumber: Under limited supervision the Plumber will diagnose plumbing and mechanical problems, offer solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of hospital staff and patients. Inspect, install, repair and replace pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain and heating, water, gas, chilled water, and drainage system of the hospital according to state, local, and federal codes.
Maint Mech III - Service Technician: Under limited supervision, the Service Technician will diagnose mechanical and building problems, offer solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of clinics and ancillary buildings. Requires knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, complete building envelope package, and all types of interior finishes. Must be versatile and self motivated.
Knowledge & Skills:
Maint Mech III - Electronics Tech: Considerable knowledge of electronics and electricity to include basic electricity, linear and digital integrated circuit operations. Knowledge of the hazards and applicable safety standards and performance requirements related to electrical circuits in a hospital and patient care environment. Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, gauges, and testing devices is required. An ability to communicate information in clear concise terms is required.
Maint Mech III - Plumber: Proficiency in the use of acetylene torches, hacksaws, pipe benders, cutters, threaders, wrenches, and other plumbing tools. Working knowledge of the uniform mechanical code, as well as City of Austin amendments to the code. An ability to communicate information in clear, concise terms is required. Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, gauges, and testing devices is required. An ability to communicate information in clear concise terms is required.
Maint Mech III - Service Technician: Proficiency in the use of all types of hand tools and testing equipment including but not limited to manifold gauges, freon use, vacuum pumps, electrical meters, etc. A working knowledge of the UMC and UBC. Ability to communicate technical information in clear concise terms is required.
Education:
Preferred: Degree from trade or technical school.
Experience:
Preferred: Five years in a maintenance or construction field.
