CT Technologist

Skyline Medical Center is currently looking for a CT Technologist.

Responsibilities:

Must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.

Must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.

Must maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety.

Prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate computed tomography examinations, including a range of tissue biopsies and fluid drainages.

Prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with state, federal and hospital regulations.

Primary liaison between patients and departmental physicians and other members of the support team.

Must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills.

Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure that patient’s rights are protected.

Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships both inter- and intra-departmentally; to foster good customer relations and to observe the Skyline Medical Center mission statement.

Ability to be knowledgeable and compliant with the policies, procedures, and regulations relating to the Department of Medical Imaging.

Ability to use professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties.

Quality improvement and customer service allow the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to be a responsible member of the health care team by continually assessing professional performance.

Participates in continuing education for optimal patient care, public education and enhanced knowledge and technical competence. Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited education program in Radiologic technology.

ARRT R.T. (R)(denotes successful completion of the ARRT certification examination) (or registry eligible) or ARRT R.T. (R)(CT) (denotes successful completion of the computed tomography advanced-level examination)

1 year post-graduate experience – optional

Must obtain CT registration within 12 months of hire

American Heart Association BLS certification required.
