This position is graded as Exempt level 5 or L6. The selected candidate will be placed at the job level that is commensurate with prior experience and technical competency.

Support the processing of all financial accounting activities according to plant/corporate policies and procedures.

Coordinate plant period close activities and reporting, preparation of Forecasting reviews, and preparation of annual plant budget.

Provide financial analysis & support for one of the plant business units. Analyzing period results, costing new products, cost studies and ad hoc requests.

Manage maintenance of Sarbanes Oxley requirements and participate in internal audits.

Provide procedural and technical training to plant staff and Fin/Acct dept on new policies and procedures. Update financial accounting procedures as needed.

Assist in the process of optimizing the application of SAP to pursue more efficient work processes.

Support Plant Operations as needed.

To coordinate work with the controller, gaining familiarity with plant accounting needs, systems, and activities to broaden knowledge base, assuming a leadership role in the absence of the controller.

To function as a member of a High Performance Organization, providing leadership in a manner that encourages self-direction and motivation of team members while creating an atmosphere striving for continuous improvement.

Support the plant Cost Management program. Provide insightful analysis highlighting waste opportunities and participating on LSS teams.

Develop understanding of cost accounting functions and support as needed. (BOMs, Product Costing, Grain accounting, Finished Goods inventory balancing)

Lead and develop direct reports by providing training and projects to build skill sets. Provide proper cross training to assure adequate coverage of accounting needs.

This position requires a four-year college degree in Accounting/Finance. The incumbent must possess the ability to interact with a diverse customer base, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prepare and manage budgets. The incumbent must possess strong computer skills.

The incumbent must be willing to work in a team-based environment and must be willing to build personal skills, as well as encourage and lead the development of Finance employees across the plant.

The incumbent must have strong organizational skills to facilitate meeting the requirements of SOX, internal audits, and self-assessments, as well as a strong understanding of key internal controls and their application.
