BASIC FUNCTION
To develop, direct, and supervise production employees engaged in examining, machine cutting, packing, packaging and storage of all glass products.

1. Safety, Health and Environment – Provide a safe and healthy work environment to minimize injuries and health concerns to employees and the public while ensuring adherence to government and PPG environmental regulations, product safety standards and Company policies.

2. Quality/Customers – Develop and administer the quality process within the production team in order to support the quality philosophy of the production facility as it relates to all customers internal and external.

3. Controllable Costs – Direct the crew and the operation in such a manner to provide efficient operations, and constantly reduce production costs.

4. Pro-Employee Environment – Manage, supervise, and counsel employees in a manner that creates an atmosphere of mutual respect while demanding a high performance standard from team members.

5. Communications – Provide timely communications regarding plant processes to team members and other areas and departments.

6. EEO Policies – Maintain and support equal opportunity policies of the plant and cooperation through fairness in dealing with plant personnel.

7. Employee Development – Motivate employees to stretch business and personal goals for self and business improvements.

8. Personal Growth – Continue personal growth and development for supervisory and managerial effectiveness through continued education and on and off-the-job activities. Learn business from ground floor in order to be able to take more responsible plant management positions.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Successful candidates will have a high level of energy, be self-motivated, and have enthusiasm for their work. This position is a highly responsible position in our newly rebuilt 50 million dollar operation. Logical technical, mechanical, electrical and personal, problem solving ability are important characteristics of successful candidates for this position. Candidates need the ability to quickly learn processes, and then find ways to improve operations. The candidate must be confident in managing and directing the activities of subordinates. High performers in this job will be considered for other openings in the company, including management and engineering positions. Associate’s degree. 3-5 years of experience in a production environment with management experience.
