Food Server- Seasonal

The Kings Island Food and Beverage team is seeking motivated servers, ages 19 and up, for our high volume, Full Service restaurant.   Interviews begin in February, so now is the time to get your application submitted so that you can be one of the first to be interviewed in 2017 for a FUN summer job!  Servers at this restaurant will prepare and serve food to park guests, operate cash registers, maintain cleanliness and safety of the assigned area, and provide quality table service to park guests.  This position is ideal for anyone who enjoys interacting with people.  This is a position that may accept tips as well.

The 2017 season promises to be one of the best, with the addition of our new wooden coaster, Mystic Timbers!  Do you know what’s in the shed?  The 2017 season will also bring back Winterfest.   These new attractions, and more, await you during your season at Kings Island.   

Essential Job Functions:

• Greets guests, answers questions, ensures quality service and resolves complaints for guests
• Takes proper payment and makes change for food and beverage items using a cash register
• Takes and fills food and beverage orders from guests; serves food in correct portions to ensure proper food cost procedures are followed; cooks and prepares food items; notifies kitchen personnel of shortages or special order
• Uses soda fountains to serve cold drinks; makes milkshakes and frozen desserts; uses hot water heater or coffee maker to make and serve hot drinks
• Squeegees floors, wipes off counter, sweeps, empties trash and completes other general cleaning duties; wraps silverware as directed by Restaurant Management; removes plates, cups, trash, silverware and anything else left at guest tables
• Maintains proper stock levels for all serving, kitchen, dining and condiment areas; alerts Team Leader to supply shortages
• Alerts Supervisor of any malfunctions, safety concerns, or needs; ensures all safety equipment is being used properly; ensures product temperature controls are met and maintained for quality and safety; follows all Board of Health regulations
• Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision
• Other duties may be assigned

Minimum Training and Experience:

• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
