Estimator

-Our client is looking for a construction estimator. Responsibilities include:

Receive and review drawings and/or plans from design partners and architects.
* Works independently to create detailed, thorough project estimate.
* Contact suppliers and vendors for material and subcontract pricing.
* Attend pre-bid meetings to obtain project requirements and objectives.
* Meet with client, engineering and architectural staff to clarify ambiguities in project details.
* Assist clients/architects in selecting materials, systems, etc. required for project.
* Create detailed plans, schedules, drawings, materials lists, labor hours, and subcontractors required to successfully complete project. Analyze to determine estimated project costs.
* Collaborate with other engineering and project management staff to prepare timely proposal packages; work closely with operations to create buildable cost effective job package.
* Assist in project planning, preliminary engineering and feasibility review.
* Prepare or arrange for preparation of production details and plans for projects.
* Prepare, edit and finalize specifications and other items for the contract, tracking selections and ensuring continuity between drawing and text documents.
* Review project plans and drawings to ensure all items are accounted for and plan is in place for execution of the project.
* Provide project turnover to Project Management team after awarded project.
* Perform regular jobsite inspections in order to develop and maintain project familiarity and knowledge.
* Collaborate with Project Manager on job buyout.
* Provide technical information, change order pricing, and other forms of support as needed to Superintendent or Foreman throughout the project.
* Participate in the review and evaluation of project estimates to actual costs at project completion.
* Remain current on trends, methodologies and best practices within the construction and cost estimating field.
